    1. Kit Ram 8gb For Macbook Pro

Hello, Recently, I have been thinking of upgrading my MacBook Pro's memory from 4GB to 8GB. Off course I have conducted my research and know that my MacBook Pro model (6,2) max out at 8GB of RAM. The type and frequency of my Mac's RAM is DDR3 1067MHz, from shopping around I've centered my options with the following 8GB RAM kits. The first 8GB kit comes from OWC (Other World Computing) and the second option comes from NewEgg which is a Corsair RAM 8GB kit. OWC Kit: Cosair Ram Kit from NewEgg: Now the current price of the OWC memory kit is $67.99 and the Corsair RAM kit is $56.99. If it were for price alone I would take the Corsair RAM.

However, since I have recently dealt with OWC's customer support which has been more than helpful, I would not mind buying the more expensive RAM from them either. Also, given that I have never bought RAM from Corsair, I honestly don't know if their RAM works well on MacBook Pros (although the product title says that this is Mac RAM) or if Corsair's Warranty policy stacks up to OWC's or other RAM vendors. Due to these doubts, this is why I am in a predicament, since both offers are attractive. Do you think I would be better served by purchasing the RAM from Corsair?

In addition to that I have additional questions:. Am I missing something in my RAM research that might make the two memory kits incompatible with my MacBook Pro?. Why my Mac says that it has 1067MHz RAM where as all the 8GB RAM kits that I have seen for my MacBook Pro say they are 1066MHz? Thanks for your time! Hey all, just have some questions about my memory situation.

Ok, I have a Mac book pro, 1 yr. Also just updated to Maverics. My mac came with 4 gigs. Up till recently I have not had any concerns about performace, however I am recording quite a bit with Garageband and yesterday the program stoped sudenly and gave a popup window with an option to use (auto-save) that was good. I checked around a bit with diagnostics. Swapped memory is 0 Compressed memory is 0 But there is a green line all the way accross the bottom of the memory pressure window.

I'm thinking I'ts probably the right time to upgrade another 4 gigs. Any input would be great. Thank you, Jim. Apple Footer.
